Announcement 3rd Berlin U25 Open 2025
Dear chess friends,
After many months of negotiations and other preparations, we can finally announce the 3rd Berlin Open 2025!
We have managed to win a very special tournament location for us: The Berlin Olympic Stadium!
Many thanks to Matthias Wolf from the DSB, who supported us significantly in this endeavour.
All matches will be held from November 14-16, 2025 in the Olympic Lounge, with access to the Olympic Terrace, which is located inside the stadium.
Due to various factors beyond our control, the tournament can only run over three days this year. Therefore, we have decided to organize a blitz tournament on Friday, 14.11.2025 and a rapid tournament on 15.-16.11.2025. The rate of play will be 3 min + 2s/move for blitz and 10 min + 5s/move for rapid.
We are also extremely pleased that we have gained a new partner tournament with the Open German Freestyle Championship, which will be organized by the Berlin Chess Association in the person of Paul Meyer-Dunker.
All details can be found in the announcement, travel tips can be found in the Player Guide.
We are looking forward to your sign-ups!
