Attentive readers are probably wondering: “Why the plural — ‘announcements’?”

Our focus remains clearly on a youth tournament — in our case, players up to the age of 25.

But that’s no reason to exclude older chess friends (for example, chess-playing parents).

That’s why, for the first time this year, we’re also offering Ü25 tournaments (i.e. for players born in 2000 or earlier) in Blitz and Rapid — and we’re excited to see how much interest this generates. The venue alone (once again the Olympic Stadium Berlin this year) is reason enough to take part — and there are prizes to be won, too.

Please note that on the last day of the tournament, the eighth round will start as scheduled (see tournament announcement!)

at 1:00 PM.

Anyone who arrives late will be penalized by the arbiters …

The tournaments will take place in the Olympia Lounge (link opens external page). Access is only possible through the East Gate, then along the stadium towards the South Gate via the Marble Foyer (see map).

The organizing team is able to offer additional spots for both tournaments beyond the original registration deadline.

Registrations are therefore still possible until November 12, 2025 (link opens the registration form).

On each day, prior to our tournament, the Berlin Chess Federation is hosting the German Chess960 Championship which is open for anyone, however, only German Players can become German Champions.
